Program Schedule
The program for the teaching workshop is organized in several tracks, which will allow participants to focus on the topics they prefer. Some topics will continue from previous teaching workshops, including one for completing work on a Web-based collection of laboratory exercises requiring minimal equipment. Participants will be free to follow a single track for the duration of the workshop or to participate in different tracks at different times.
There will be several plenary sessions each day and participants are encouraged to bring posters and computer-based programs. ADInstruments is generously supporting the workshop and will be providing computers and lab equipment for demonstrations.
If you are bringing a poster to the Congress, feel free to bring it to the teaching workshop. Limited space necessitates restricting the size of posters to two (2) A4 size sheets (210mm X 297mm) or one A3 size sheet (297mm X 420mm) of paper. Posters can also be prepared for presentation by Microsoft PowerPoint.
If you intend to bring a poster in either format (paper or computer), please provide an abstract, limited to 100 words, for distribution to all workshop participants. Send your abstract by June 15, 2009 as a Microsoft Word document (.doc/.docx) or rich text file (.rtf) to Penny Hansen at phansen@mun.ca.
On our final evening we will have our traditional farewell party, to which we invite you to wear a costume that reflects your ethnic background, where you were born, or where you currently live. We will have some prizes to give away this evening, including having an exchange of CDs that participants have brought.
Meals will be served cafeteria-style. There will be a vegetarian option at every meal. Let us know on your registration form about any dietary restrictions or preferences that you have.
